HAuNTcon 2020 to Take Over New Orleans This Weekend
Trumbull, CT (January 14, 2020) – HAuNTcon 2020 is just a few days away… the time has come to disturb the norm! Taking place January 17-19 in New Orleans, this is more than a tradeshow, it's an innovative experience where the haunt community creates the future of the industry.
As haunters enter the show, they will find that their suggestions have shaped this year’s event with new exhibitors, extended buying hours, SMART Event experience, a refined event schedule, more advanced education, and more networking – all providing the resources haunters deserve to grow their business.
For the third year in a row, HAuNTcon will be teaming up with the Davis Graveyard Crew as they do a live build on the show floor. The live build and auction will take on a classic New Orleans theme as they create from start to finish a Mausoleum that uses intricate foam carving and texturing techniques. Once the build is complete on Saturday, January 18th, all haunters and attendees are invited to participate in the silent auction of the piece to bring back to their haunt. All proceeds of the silent auction will go to Magic Wheelchair - a non-profit organization that builds impressive costumes for children in wheelchairs - at no cost to families.
Commented Liz Irving, senior vice president of marketing for HAuNTcon, “Thank you so much to the Davis Graveyard Crew and Hot Wire Foam Factory for once again sponsoring and dedicating time to creating a magnificent build on the floor. We are so proud to partner with them to support a great cause – Magic Wheelchair. We can’t wait to see which haunter will be bringing home this year’s build!”
More than 70 hours of advanced education content from haunt experts will once again return to the HAuNTcon show floor. Sessions feature advanced topics including makeup and prosthetics, actor training, business and marketing, safety and security, scenic design and more. There are also several hands-on workshops offered that are designed to teach and expand haunters skills to take back to their haunts. New this year is the Snake Pit; live show floor education sessions that are focused on providing an interactive experience, idea sharing with peers and a new way to network with other Haunters.
The exhibit hall will feature a variety of companies, including more than 25 new to the show, across the categories of props, accessories, business services, scenic design, costumes, makeup and more. In addition, buyers will have access to the Halloween & Party Expo offering an additional set of buying opportunities. New for 2020 the show is a SMART Event all focused on new product launches – making it even easier to discover new products and do business. Attendees will receive SMART Badges, allowing them to easily collect information at exhibitor booths that will be sent to them at the end of each day to simplify their buying.
