50 speakers and 70 hours of learning confirmed for HAuNTcon 2018
Education program focused on strategies and new trends for all levels of haunters
Returning favorite speakers including Kyle Vest, Nick Wolfe, Jeff and Chris Davis of Davis Graveyards, representatives from Haunted Farms of America, HauntPay and HaunTopic, as well as new presenters including author and fear sociologist Margee Kerr and Scott Stener, corporate director of entertainment and events at Six Flags, will be among the 50+ speakers sharing their insight and knowledge at HAuNTcon 2018, the leading event “Designed by Haunters, For Haunters”. Taking place January 12-15 in New Orleans, the event presents the first opportunity of the new year for haunters to get a jump start on planning for 2018.
“We are thrilled at the lineup we have in store and grateful to have presentations by some of the most passionate and successful minds in haunting,” commented Liz Irving, Vice President of Marketing for HAuNTcon. “We’ve worked closely with the industry to ensure this year’s program is shaped around new trends, technologies and techniques most relevant to haunters. Because of this, we are excited to announce that this year we are adding a new Escape Room track as well as a focus on sessions discussing security and safety.”
Attendees joining the event will be able to participate in informative education sessions, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. In addition to security and escape room sessions, the schedule will feature actionable strategies and skills across a variety of topics including marketing, makeup, airbrush and prosthetics techniques, sound and special effects, technology, auditioning and actor management, design and planning, and more.
On Monday, January 15, haunters will be able to take a deeper dive into topics during advanced all-day workshops presented by HAuNTcon founder Leonard Pickel, Skin Wars fan favorite Kyle Vest of Blast Effects, and Nick Wolfe of Evil Twin FX.
Continued Irving, “We are excited to be able to present such a wide range of sessions for all levels of haunters, and hope that no matter whether you’re an owner, manager, home haunter or actor, you are able to find new ideas and new inspiration for the upcoming season.”
This year it is more cost effective than ever to attend HAuNTcon. For the first time, the Full Weekend Pass ticket includes complimentary access the annual Costume Ball, Garage Sale and both the HAuNTcon and Halloween & Party Expo tradeshow floors. Teams are encouraged to join us in New Orleans and can take advantage of discount group rates.
