HAuNTcon Horror Film Contest
Join Amateur Film Makers from across the country for the Annual HAuNTcon Amateur Horror Film Festival!
Many Haunters dream of writing/producing/directing movies, and they use their Haunted Attractions as a creative outlet for their moviemaking desires. Now there is a chance for Haunters to make their own films and compete against others for fun, awards and recognition at the Annual HAuNTcon Amateur Horror Film Festival!
Film Categories are divided into: Short Film (less than 30 min) and Feature length (over 60 min), and each of those categories are divided into: Low Budget (under $10,000 to produce) and High Budget ($10,001 and Up). Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category. A small entry fee is required.
Acceptable movie themes include: Horror, Paranormal, Haunt Related, Ghosts, Ghouls, Zombies or Monsters of any kind. Movies can be “R rated,” but any film deemed pornographic will be removed from the competition without refund.
The top 3 in each category will be screened during the convention as midnight movies on Friday and Saturday nights. Awards for the winning movies will be given at the Costume Ball on Saturday, April 30th. A list of winning movies will be posted on the HAuNTcon website, linked to the moviemakers’ websites. We are also working with Denver theaters to try and get the winning movies shown to the public in a special screening.
Use the link below to fill out the entry form (one form per movie), and send the form, entry fee payment (entry will not be accepted without entry fee) and 3 copies of the film to:

Each film will be scored on a scale of 1-10 (1-lowest & 10-highest) for: Plot, Effects, Acting, Visual Quality and Overall Enjoyment. Ties will be broken by the head judge. All decisions are final.
